“It’s easy to have ethics when what you love is not in danger.”
-Mariana Enríquez, A Sunny Place for Shady People
I might say that it’s easy to excel at what you are good at when nothing bad is going to happen.
But sometimes, some people become a Robin Hood, Batman vigilante type of person who wants to do things even if they are lawless, as they contribute to a greater good for something.
It’s like Nietzsche’s book, Beyond Good and Evil.
On the other hand, this is also a technique for writing a great idea for a story in your novel.
This is the question that might be helpful in your writing:
Who is gonna be the Villain because the Villain will define who the hero is?
What is the purpose of the protagonist before the story begins, like his vision, dreams, and aim, not just for himself but for something bigger than himself?
How can you write an ending to the story so that you will always know how to start it?
When we ask the right questions regarding our writing, maybe the right answers take care of themselves and the great ideas show up.
