He Zhiwu: Most people fall in love for the first time as teenagers. I guess I’m a late bloomer. Maybe I’m too picky. On May 30, 1995, I finally fell in love for the first time. It was raining that night. When I looked at her, I suddenly felt like I was in a store. And she was me. Without any warning, she suddenly enters the store. I don’t know how long she’ll stay. The longer the better, of course.
Another Wong Kar Wai vintage masterpiece film.
Every single person has a past, and that past shapes what their present is right now.
Every single person experiences that first time as a teenager by falling in love with their childhood sweetheart.
The question might be why those people didn’t make it to be together in the end? Is it the first time that they experience that first love is not actually love but just playing the game of love?
If people fall in love and in the end, it breaks. What is the point in that?
Questioning about what might be the love that we deserve is by doing the things we truly love to do, and maybe that one person who understands that is a better way to start over again.
