”When power corrupts, it keeps a log of its progress, written into that most sensitive memory device, the human face.”
-Thomas Pynchon, Vineland
This book is the basis of the newest film by Paul Thomas Anderson, One Battle After Another.
Before you watch the film, consider reading the book first (but it’s always your choice)
Thomas Pynchon’s novels are about Paranoia, his signature writing style.
Corruption never chooses a face, whether you are handsome, pretty, or not.
Once those people with the power choose to do unethical things, he or she does it and don’t care about the public, but the media might be so focused on what might be the benefits for them in their company.
Of course, people vote to have the face of their country, but when only the face is the basis of all, especially and instead of the good of the whole country, then guess what, confusion and the country always fail.
