”We started to laugh and then we spotted a white man up the road. There was nothing that irritated white men more than a couple of slaves laughing. I suspected they were afraid we were laughing at them or else they simply hated the idea of us having a good time.”
-Percival Everett, James
It’s so good to laugh, but it’s also a weapon used to irritate someone.
Irritating someone doesn’t help, and over time it brings conflict.
Being friendly doesn’t mean that you also give what you have but rather you are always there and never forget about those who don’t forget about you.
That’s the essence of friendship.
It’s good to laugh with friends and spend quality time with them.
But the quality of time doesn’t mean it’s all about laughing because the true quality you can see is when you have the idea that your friend is always there for you, even if you don’t need their help.
