“But mostly it taught me that music can be more of a home than four walls and a roof.”
-Sabaa Tahir, All My Rage
When it is music that feels like peace even though the sound is loud.
Different people have different kinds of tastes in music.
Because everyone listens to it in every genre that they want to hear.
The thing about music is it’s a product that you can’t sell because the product itself sells and you don’t need to market because the product markets itself.
Back then, especially in the era of physical CDs and Vinyl records, the music industry made a lot of money because of it. Radio and TV, like MTV, are simply a vehicle so that more people will buy the physical copy of their music. (It’s a perfect industry that makes a lot of money)
Until the internet shows up and destroys it. Why? Because you can have your music and listen to it anytime you want, wherever you are for free.
You don’t need to go to the record store to buy the CD and Vinyl because it’s one click away (If you are smart enough, you have your Phone, tablet, and even PC, you can use it.)
That’s what this Internet of Things is for: It’s one click away.
Independent Artist can now boost their music and spread it even if they have no production company, as long as their music is their own.
And when they have enough audience, not a big audience (but enough) in which those people will be eager to tell their friends about this Artist, then that’s when the concert happens.
Every Artist starts small, and when they become big, they must be consistent enough to play concert by concert.
Because if they don’t, they don’t make money from their music, not including their merch.
