Tokyo Ueno Station

“To speak is to stumble, to hesitate, to detour and hit dead ends. To listen is straightforward. You can always just listen.”

‎-Miri Yū , Tokyo Ueno Station

‎It’s much easier to always speak than listen because speaking is much more natural than just listening.

‎Speaking is judging what you want to say.

‎Listening is more about understanding.

‎Think for a second, why do we have two ears rather than one mouth?

‎Maybe because listening is much more beneficial than talking.

‎I’m not saying that talking is bad.

‎The point is it’s the humility that you show, rather than the pride, that gives the conversation more complexity.

‎Richard P. Feynman talks about it perfectly…

‎”Knowledge isn’t free. You have to pay attention.”

‎To pay attention requires listening so that you gain knowledge.
