The Infinite Game

‎”Infinite-minded leaders understand that “best” is not a permanent state. Instead, they strive to be “better.” “Better” suggests a journey of constant improvement and makes us feel like we are being invited to contribute our talents and energies to make progress in that journey.”

‎‎-Simon Sinek, The Infinite Game

‎‎Being the best, like number 1, is overrated because you are not always number 1, and sometimes over the years or decades, even centuries, there is always someone who has taken that place.

‎‎The examples of this are when social networking sites like Myspace and Friendster are the first and most popular and number 1 but when Facebook shows up,  Facebook takes that place and dominates the social networking.

‎‎Blackberry and Nokia are the best cellphones on the planet. But when Apple introduced their newest and latest products like the iPhone, Apple took that place.

‎‎Why is this happening?

‎‎Because those infinite-minded leaders know how to strive to be better because they know that they are in an Infinite Game, and they play with the right mindset in a game in which the only competition they have is only themselves. The result is that those companies become more valuable and better.
