The Accidental Billionaires

“The problem was that the more people that joined, the less exclusive it became.”

-Ben Mezrich, The Accidental Billionaires

This book is the basis of the Film, “The Social Network” (2010) directed by David Fincher.

That’s how powerful the social media site called Facebook is. Now this site is like a public entity. No powerful government can stop it because you can’t police the internet. That’s what Mark Zuckerberg and his genius colleagues do. They create an internet media that is so powerful because people, every day, at any time, anywhere, use it because of its powerful algorithms. It shapes how the news spreads and divides it between what is real and what is fake.

The problem is this: if you are an Artist who creates Art and then you use Facebook to market your work. That’s a problem because Facebook is a micro media. Even if you have a million likes and followers and you post something, it’s not like you also have a million hearts and sell out your masterpiece.

The point is, you choose to control your Art on how it will not only become spread, especially in social media, but how it will become much more helpful to you, especially if you are an Artist, because the work that sells a million copies is better than a million likes and followers.
