“I was made for the library, not the classroom. The classroom was a jail of other people’s interests. The library was open, unending, free.”
-Ta-Nehisi Coates, Between the World and Me
There is nothing wrong with both the library and the classroom.
In fact, they are called “School.”
Schools and classrooms were invented by Industrialists so that they would have more people working for them.
We must know and understand what it is for.
A classroom for me is a place where students have the same interests and goals that they want to pursue in life. They share the experience of that learning. But today’s standard, as Coates wrote, “The Classroom was a jail of other people’s interest.” It means you can’t think outside the box.
While the library is a place like the world. The library is like the Garden. The library is like the forest. The words grow in the heart of people in every part of the world.
