In other words, most of us like to consume rather than to create.
Most people are consumers, and a few people are creators.
Back then, in the 19th and 20th centuries, before the advent of the internet, there were only a few machines that produced mass communication, which we call the foundation of the Industrial Revolution, like telegraphs, printing presses for books and newspapers. (Later they invented the telephone, radio, and TV)
The music industry is perfect because when you want to listen to a song, you only hear it on the radio, and when you want to own one, you need to go to the record store to buy a record that you want to listen to.
Everything is perfect because of the Industrial Revolution, which laid the foundation of the world we live in today.
Until there is an eclipse.
It changes everything because of this thing called “Internet.”
You can browse everything, anywhere you are in the world for free, and the cost of it is almost 0 % (0 % means that the cost of the distribution is almost nothing compared to the cost of distribution in the past century (i.e. delivered messages, online articles, etc).
The internet is free but the cost is your time to create. But most likely to consume.
It’s free to gain knowledge and the proof of it is that most universities and especially those prestigious universities offer free courses wherever you are in the world and the cost of it is your laptop and internet only (they give away a certificate for free. You can search for it if you want to know)
It’s all free, and most people can’t see it because most people are conformist. The reason why most people are conformist is that in a hundred years, the industrial revolution gave rise to society, and they conform to it for a very long time until the world changes.
