What does it mean to be lost in Translation?

© That One Thing I Wished Facebook Page

maybe we got lost in translation—like, maybe the way we tried to show up for each other just didn’t land the way it was meant to. you were trying in your way, and i was trying in mine, but somewhere in between the silences, the mixed signals, the assumptions… things just didn’t connect. maybe it wasn’t that we didn’t care, it’s just that we were speaking different emotional languages, and neither of us knew how to read the subtitles.

‎—Heishi

This might be the epidemic of what most people experience when it comes to relationships.

‎First, there is a talking stage, and that talking stage is the beginning of all.

‎No single relationship can start without the talking stage.

‎It turns out that the talking stage is a part of what makes and creates a relationship.

‎Lost in Translation happens when those talking stages are at the end of the beginning.

‎But it’s not actually the end because it might be one of the challenges to make those relationships way more flexible and maybe I call it meaningful.
