Colonel MacKenzie: I hoped today might be a good day. Hope is a dangerous thing. That’s it for now, then next week, Command will send a different message. Attack at dawn. There is only one way this war ends. Last man standing.
There is always a beginning and an end.
That’s called a finite game.
And there is always a need to keep playing the game.
That’s called an infinite game.
Playing a game with a finite mindset has always been a struggle because there is no such thing as winning in an infinite game.
The Infinite game continues, whether or not the players are participating.
This film is a war film that sends a message to a battalion of soldiers without access to modern technology.
They want to send a message not to attack but to dismiss and cancel the plan of attacking the enemy but the journey of it is a long way and there is a lot of time and effort even surviving in those days when WW1 was happening.
The cinematography of this film is a one-shot take, which means that there is no cut to it. It’s like it’s shot in one way or should I say like a live film and there is no cut to it.
What a great job by the Director and the Cinematographer of this film that makes it one of the great films of their time.
