The Pleasing Hour

“It is a subtle violence, the violence of absence.”

‎-Lily King, The Pleasing Hour

‎It’s the presence that gives something to fascinate, and it’s better in the long run rather than just making something happen or going with the flow.

‎But when things don’t work out it might be because there is something that is what is called absence.

‎The absence of teamwork to make things work together.

‎The absence of consistency.

‎It’s the presence that is worth looking for because being present might be confusing given that it’s not going to make things better.

‎Yes of course you do the job well, you go to school and are always present always but do you do the work that matters that gives you goosebumps in a way that changes something for the better?

‎We live now in a confusing state of problems that in years, decades, or centuries are still being talked about to have a solution.

‎But here we are now in the present we still talk about the problems without a solid solution to them.

‎Living now with peace is what matters but don’t make the wrong idea that to gain peace is by not speaking up to stand for something that is right.

‎Focusing is what I call it when a human being understands, listens, and has empathy for others.

‎Show up, do the right thing, and be the artist who makes a craft that touches a human being.
