”Human beings are rule-following animals by nature; they are born to conform to the social norms they see around them, and they entrench those rules with often transcendent meaning and value. When the surrounding environment changes and new challenges arise, there is often a disjunction between existing institutions and present needs. Those institutions are supported by legions of entrenched stakeholders who oppose any fundamental change.”
-Francis Fukuyama, The Origins of Political Order: From Prehuman Times to the French Revolution
The world works because for hundreds and thousands of years, humans couldn’t survive by living alone.
The reason is that each forms a tribe in the early days.
Now in modern times, we call it community.
But being alone and having a sense of peace of mind and solitude for the individual self is necessary nowadays, rather than just conforming because there is too much noise, buzz, and unnecessary information around.
Our modern times are rich in technological advancement, resources to sustain the lives of people, but struggles and the poorest countries are in effect because maybe there is a reason behind it.
We know the reason why those things happen.
The only thing that makes us free in those situations is having a sense of finding a better path towards a better world.
That each human being, whether they have or not have, they are always human, and the power always comes from the people.
