I can’t do that means we fear something that if we do that (which is to sing or write a song, dance, create something creative) we embarrassed ourselves if we fail and if people did not recognize us.
“I can’t do that.” also means we don’t believe in ourselves to do what we never do in our life.
But those we never do in our life, maybe if we do it with our friends, family, and relatives, this is a tool to make a conversation that is meaningful not on something that we stabbing people in their back.
“I can’t do that” is fear that destroys effectiveness and creativity.
How about instead we say to ourselves, “Yes these things that I (sing, create a song, dance, or create something creative) will not work, but I keep working because I care about this for the people I serve.”
If we don’t care about the outcome of what we make or do something, it doesn’t matter if we are successful or popular, as long as there are few people that you serve that care about your work.
And those who care about your creative work will tell others or their friends because what you make helps them.
But the first step is we must care first our creative work.
Keep working and care about your creative work.
