The problem is Perfectionism.

Isaac Asimov write every single day when he woke up every morning, pick a pen and paper or typewriter and he simple writes.

The character, robots or his genre is a bonus because he keeps writing and along the ride, he produces a body of work that defines the science fiction genre.

When the musician keeps playing and writing songs he is not blocked but when he stops playing and writing then years pass by he plays, he pursuit perfectionism and outcome-based or he plays and writes songs that make a hit only.

Writer’s Block is not a problem, the real problem is perfectionism, Yes you can block but that doesn’t mean you can’t write, you can write and don’t block when you avoid reassurance, perfectionism and outcome-based because the work we do might not work this time but it worth working.
