Before the Film Parasite shows up, there is a Flip Side of other World in Rizal’s novels.
Remember in Noli me Tangere or in English titled Touch me Not, the character name Crisostomo Ibarra arrived in his country which is the Philippines from other countries that he himself has plans to reform his country. But he failed because of corrupt officials of Spaniards and friars in those days in which the novel sets.
His loved ones are the cost for his plans.
In a sequel titled El Filibusterismo or in English titled The Reign of Greed novel, Crisostomo Ibarra transforms himself into another name but the same person that called him “Simoun.” Why? because he wants vengeance.
What I’m saying about this is…
In Noli me Tangere or Touch me Not novel has a different world that Crisostomo Ibarra imagined. He imagined a world especially in a country to have reform not by revolution but to the benefit of all people. In short, Freedom.
But the Flip Side of other World shows when he writes the sequel EL Filibusterismo or The Reign of Greed.
Jose Rizal is not only because he is a National Hero because my country Philippines have Freedom but he also a Hero for Writers.
