The Color of Money

© Weidenfeld & Nicolson

“A pool hustler had to do what he claimed to be able to do. The risks he took were not underwritten. His skill on the arena of green cloth – cloth that itself was the color of money – could never be only pretense.”

‎-Walter Tevis, The Color of Money (Eddie Felson, #2)

‎Sports are games that have fair play.

‎It’s a finite game.

‎The game ends when there is a declare to be a winner depending on the rules that they obey.

‎Hustlers are hustlers because they want to make sure that they always win the game even breaking the rules of it.

‎Professionals are professionals because they obey the rules so that the game will be trusted in the long run.

‎This is why big leagues like the NBA, MLB, NFL etc. have a credibility to sustain the game and make sure that it is a fair game.

‎Hustling will never end because whatever it takes to win a game, it will need hustle.

‎Maybe life is a game, you need to hustle hard or just make sure that you obey the rules.‎
