If you listen to the song Welcome to the Black Parade by My Chemical Romance there are lyrics of it that say…
“I’m just a boy, not a hero.”
This is actually what Batman is.
He didn’t want to become a hero because his purpose is vengeance.
But most of the viewers of the Film Batman whether it is The Dark Knight and others, see him as a hero.
But for the creator and writer of Batman, he is not a hero, he is the character that fits the story of Joker.
Remember when you watch The Dark Knight, the Joker says to him when they talk to each other at the prison cell:
“You complete me.” The Joker said, starring Heath Ledger.
So what I learn is, Create and Write a character not because that is the hero but fits the story of what the villain does to him.
